Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta - Hidden Beauty

This is awesome Road trip i had during start of my professional life - With 4 Bikes and 7 friends we started from Bangalore. The Place is situated near Bandipur and 230Kms from Bangalore.

Route From Bangalore to Gopala Swamy Hill

We started Early morning by 4:30 AM and targeted to reach the destination 9 or 10 AM, we took Mysore Road (NH275) and Unfortunately one bike got punctured near Ramanagara and it took lot of time to find an puncture shop and get it corrected - all our time wasted here :-(.

 The Bike got repaired by 7 AM and we started again and finished the breakfast in small hotel on the way to the Mysore - We reached Mysore around 10 AM. From there we took Nanjangud Route to reach the Destination.

From Mysore the place (Gopalswamy Betta) is nearly 80KMS and 56KMS from Nanjangud. We reached the bottom of hill around 12PM and The Road from Bangalore to Destination were good and Decent. Just before starting of the hill, there is a check post. The check post is open from morning 7.00am to evening 5.00pm. Carrying liquor and video camera is strictly prohibited. This area is covered under the Project Tiger for Bandipur wildlife sanctuary and is a no plastic zone. Elephants are very commonly seen in the hill area. Entrance fee for vehicles at forest check post is as follows
2 wheeler --> INR 25, jeep and car --> INR 50, LMV --> INR 100 and HMV --> INR 200.

Please note No food is available at the hill top and be sure you have carried enough food and also the road from the start of the hill to the top is not good, please go slowly to reach the top safley without any issues.

 At last we reached the Top of the hill and the view from there was awesome , you will forget all the tiredness which you have. As its reserved forest area the entry is restricted in several places of the hill. You can see lot of Elephants there.

We took Darshan of the Gopala Swamy and enjoyed the scenery there for sometime.

After Taking Pictures - We started to Bandipur as its only 20 KMS from the hill.We reached Bandipur Around 3 PM and had some food and enjoyed the nature for some time.

Started Back after sometime and reached Mysore by 6 PM and Continued to Bangalore on NH275 and reached around 12 AM. Totally it was an awesome trip with my friends. The nest time to visit the place is during Jan to April as you can see fog there all day.
